Hey, my Rody V12 once again is the 1700-00415. I can only seem to find information on this one at Ace-Hobbies website. They claims this engine has more options for venturi's and I was wondering what other one is available. If I read correctly the stock one says 5.4mm. Compared to the ROAR and EFRA version mine seems to rev a bit slower. With the pipe I am using it runs a little bit slower than my friends Rody. We are using the same car and gear ratio. He however is using the RD Logics II pipe. Even though my Rody runs great I believe it can be much faster. Tuning wise the I think removing the ventury will make this illegal; is this true? The only diference I see between the Rody's are the carbs and plugs (one non turbo, other one turbo) Is there some porting differences? This Rody isnt on the site so I'm guessing it must be older. One last thing-The car revved as high as the other rodys only when it was on run away...not when I leaned out the needles to get it to run faster. Is a new pipe the solution to this? How about a change in carburator?
Also, if it doesn't say Roar/EFRA then, it still qualifies for a ROAR event?

If you remove the venturi you cannot run your engine in ROAR sactionned event. There is no porting differences, only the combustion chamber and glowplug.
And yes the engines always runs the best when you have a runaway... Finding the best needle settings makes your engine perform well, this in combination with the rest being in good shape of course.
For the ROAR events you can use al the V12 engines in our program, except for the 5-port versions.

AH drat. Do you find the 425 harder to tune? I mean they run quite well, but otherwise never did seem to idle and run for a whole tank as long as mine. To me there still seems to be quite a good distance in power n revving. Too bad I can't run the RB pipe as there isn't one to fit my CD3 pro.

The .12 engines in general are more sensitive and the problem is when you overheat the engine you loose compression and the idle becomes delicate and you need to help the engine continue to go or otherwise it can stall out on you.

Just a quick question. Would any of the newer Rody's p/s set fit my older one..the 415? There must be a price difference. Also, how much more of a difference will I notice by tuning the middle needle( the one they always say not to touch).

Sounds great. For now she runs really great and I have no problem hanging with anyone. Infact with the same setup my friend's R40 is only faster if/when he gets on the throttle faster than I do. Other than that, we are neck and neck. Revving wise you do hear how his screams madness.
