I've read in the past about the V12 having much more updated things on the engine such as o rings, bearings, heatsink, etc, and only hear the other big improvement made is it has even more top end than the X12. Is this true? I'm looking for a nice competition engine for maybe around $200-$250, but around that price range comes the NS12. I won't be attending any big competion, but the V12 seems quite interesting as I've had very good performance with RB. Best tuning I've ever seen. Most of the time it was almost as set and forget. Performance is always consistent. Anyway, for the V12 slide carb SG crank, how much more powerful is it compared to the MT12 and original RB X12? The mugen engine seems to have mostly bottom end and little top. I'm looking for something good all around. The car is an HPI R40 stock with THS pipe. Maybe the V12 will suit my needs. If I get that, what pipe should I pick with it? Think it will have with an NS12? Thanks for your help.

The V12 is indeed more performing compared to the previous X12 series, we estimated the improvement around 5%

IF you are not intending to attend big competitions a normal V12 will do the job for you. As for the pipe system, we suggest to use an original RB Concept IN-LINE pipe system to get the best out of your engine.

Thanks Rody. Unfortunately the LHS only has the V12 Rody version and I won't really want to shell out over $300 for just bashing around. I'll request an order. Thanks again.

Just wondering, how will the V12 3 port Rody version par upto other engines, say a Sirio Evo 2? Is the RB better in fuel mileage and reliability? That's what I'm guessing.

Oh ok. I've heard though the Rody tuned V12 3 port is pretty wicked from a friend who races locally in NJ with some fast drivers. He races 8th with his MRX-4 and RB C5 engine and watches the 10th sedan. I was looking for something nice to run at my old track Floyd Bennett. For now the stock car runs well for me so I'll probably dish out the xtra for the Rody 3 port version and a nice RB pipe to go with it. Gonna get in several hrs of race time under my belt.

RCF,Looks like we're neighbors,I'm about 50 miles north of you exit 17 NYS Thruway.Anyhow,I would advise you to run the RB pipe with your engine.
I'm building a 1/10th Drag car,and tried a different pipe set-up for body and chassis clearance issues, and the motor was just not reacting to adjustments correctly.I know of Tony and THS pipes also.Tony is good people.i have the 1700-510 5-port V-12,and re-installed the RB pipe and she settled rite down. You can't go wrong with the RB exhaust.Good luck!!You'll be happy.

Also, I just received word on the RB X12 Rody version at my LHS for $170! I'm thinking about going with it since it's just as competative as many of the .12s today. How would this compare to the V12 Rody which is about $160 more?

Guess there isn't much of a difference other than parts then. BTW, the guy made a mistake; it was just a standard X12.
