Hello Rody,

I have just purchases a RB Fuel gun and I have found that it leaks quite a lot. I am unsure whether there is an "acceptable" level of leakage in a fuel gun but it leaks from the stopper in the back of the gun, the back plate and the front nozzle. It is quite a significant amount of fuel that leaks and it leaks even when the gun is lying flat. I assume that the o rings are not working correctly. The stopper in the rear of the gun is very loose.

The fuelgun is not made to not completely leak(especially the back), the nozzle of the fuelgun should always point down when it is filled. Indeed the stopper O-ring in the back of the fuelgun is a little loose but if you put some fuel the O-ring swells and the fit is correct.

OK let me ask it like this. If I fill the gun with fuel and point the nozzle downwards should any fuel leak out of the main body of the gun? I have a fairly significant amount of leakage whith the gun in this position, enough to make the fuel tank and top deck of my car quite wet when refueling.

I just rechecked my gun after your suggestions. It seems now that the rear of the gun is sealing properly. It is now only the joint of the body and the nozzle which is leaking quite a lot. There is plastic wrapped over the o rings on the front nozzle. Should this plastic be removed or is it meant to be there?

After you have just filled the fuelgun, then it is normal that fuel can leak out of the 3 tubings, especially when you change a little the vertical position.

As for the o-rings between the nozzle and the body, the plastic is used not to damage the o-rings when mounting the gun. However once you have disassembled this part you cannot use this plastic again, so when you assemble these parts you just need to take care not to tear the o-rings, when mounted the o-rings should have a sufficient sealing so the fuel will not leak there. However if it still leaks then use silicone to prevent this part from leaking.

Hi Rody,

Thank you for the reply. I took your advice about the o rings swelling and i filled the gun with fuel and left it for some time. It appears now that there is no leakage from the gun at all except from the three tubes that you mention. Perhaps you can ammend your instructions to let people know that initially some leakage will occur until you have used some fuel in the gun.
