Hello! Just joined so Hi to all of you. I have a X12T and am having 2 issues with it. It has been broken in and runs pretty well except..
1) during Idle and low speed operation the RPMs surge quite a bit. I checked the seal at the carb since my first thought was an air leak and it appears good. Any Ideas??

2) After opening the throttle the engine holds RPM for 5 to 10 seconds after the throttle is closed. Could this be caused by a slightly lean high speed setting? Getting a good amount of smoke but temps that seem high to me. (270 range)This is with the body off and no cooling head restriction after a good high speed pass. Scratching my head on that one too.

The engine idles fine for over a minute and has good low end response as well as good high speed accelleration. I'm running Trinity 20% nitro 18% lube and a NovaRossi #6 plug in a Serpent 705. Ambient temp is around 70F.

Thanks in advance. Daurie

1) to check if there is an airleak wich can alter you idle. Take of the airfilter, start your engine, rev it a few times, then let it idle and put your finger on the carburetor. If the engine dies immediately, there is no air-leak. If it takes a lot of time for the engine to die then this could be the thing why the idle is not regular.

2) Close more the idle needle and open more the main-needle.

Thanks for the response. After posting the message I started thinking a little more about the problem and came to the same conclusion as you! Haven't had a chance to run the car yet but I'm sure that will cure my symptoms.

Thanks again for the help, Daurie
