hey rody! i recently opened my engine for routine inspection, found that the crank had some rust. so cleaned it and polished the sleeve with a brass metal polisher and it looked brand new. is this okay?

Be sure to clean out the residue of the product you use to polish, otherwise this can alter the engine.
