In my experience I have found it best not to vary the fuel during the life of an engine. I recently allowed a good freind the use of my best race engine and knowing him to be knowlegable, I agreed.
He used the fuel that he had been using with much success. My engine returned with little compression and a distorted plug.
Has anyone else found that engines seem to run best on the fuel the engine was first run in on?

Could be this has something to do with the fuel, however if you run the engine too lean the end-result is the same...

It is sometimes better not to vary too much the brand of fuel, it avoids also quite some problems.
