I'd like to run a x12 pipe on a HPI SS....is it alright to reverse the pipe to the RH side of the car so that pressure fitting is sitting towards the bottom of the car..the HPI new shaft drive has a RH mounted engine....I was advised that in order to run this pipe,I have to cut off the old fiting abd relocate a new fitting to top of pipe(something about oil clogging the fitting).....I'd like to use this pipe in the HPI challenge this weekend..

You could leave the pressure fitting below but the oil can accumulate and alter your caburetor setting, the other problem is that when you hit something on the ground you could cut the pressure-line, so that's why the pressure is on the top of the pipe.

The pressure nipple location is a matter of covenience. Located below the pipe should not affect engine performance but it will be more vulnerable to damage. It would be better to blank the existing pressure nipple off and relocate the nipple to a less vulnerable location!

thanks for those quick replys gentlemen.....
I have rb engines on my Impulse, veteq, and 2 tc3 nitros......I just bought the HPI ss also(not a bad car......it actually has more loew speed steering than any car I own.....it will be perfect for club racing,in fact,on our 85 x 125 ft roadcourse,it actually faster thru chicanes than a tc3 nitro).....
I want to put a RB in this car also..
Any chance of RB making a correct pipe for this car?...............Thanks,RODY......(BTW,Don't forget it could also be sold to all the other customers with HPI nitro MT's.....)
