Come some1 offer me some advice?

I have had this car for a while but only run it a few times, its been stood with the fuel through winter.

Now the weather is ok ive got it out ready for some nitro action but i cant get it going, its never really been used just run in. Now i have the followng prob....

I put a new Glow plug in prime the engine, then put the car on the starter. I fire up 1st time for about 10 sec's with increasing RPM then Dies. Now no matter how much i try it wont even try to start any ideas? [Confused]

Thanks

Looks like the engine does not get enough fuel, try and keep it alive by opening a little the slide when the engine runs.

However if you are not familiar with these engines we suggest you drop by at your LHS or dealer from who you have purchased the engine and aske them for advice, he should be able to solve this problem in no time..., as in this way it is quite difficult to see what you are doing wrong.

If you leave your engine for a few weeks without using it, it can happen the fuel leftover in the carburetor and main-needle has vaporised but it leaves the oil and this can change the needle settings in the beginning.
However if the engine is fooded, it indeed can stall also, so as you see many combinations are possible that's why it is better you pass at your shop and ask them to take a look at it.

Also are you using the fuel from last year?
If so get rid of it and get new.
from what I have found Fuel from last season will cause all kinds of problems.

Whey hey ITS ALIVE.

I had it running last night and i dont think it was the fuel at all.

Whilst trying to start it i noticed the Flywheel was spinning but the drive washer wasnt [Frown] so basically the engine wasnt even turning over. After i warmed the engine up with a hair-dryer the flywheel did turn the engine and with a bit of gas it started [Smile]

But i guess this means im going to have to strip it all down and re-glue the flywheel again [Frown]

Does any have any tips for glueing the flywheel?

I used a locktite thead lock, but it hasnt held. Can any1 sugest a good thead lock glue?

Thanks

Q-Bix , I have ran gas cars almost 4 years and after locktite on my first clutch nut I stopped using locktite. I have been a auto tech for 28 yrs and assembled MANY engines.
the problem many have been the nut was never tight enough from the start.
I now just torque my flywheel /clutch nut to 7 FT. LBs .
and I have not never had a flywheel come lose or broke a crank. I own 2/.21's and 3/.12's.
The way I see it the crankshaft has to be at least grade #5 hardness.
and can be torqued as such.
I disassemble my engines about every 2 races and clean them for longevity.
This works for me .
Other view points ??

Good luck and make sure that nut get tightened before you race or you could blow up that motor.
