Hello All. I race a 5port Turbo here in the UK.Matched with the latest in-line pipe set it is indeed a very quick motor but.......We race on 25% nitro fuel and the motor seeme hard to choose a glow plug for. Running on a No6 plug the motor runs quite hot, riching up the mixture keeps the plug safe but does loose performance. Running a No7 keeps the motor cool but seems to cause a lot of "cold" plug failures, the wire seems to crack after the motor has stopped. Should I change the quish gap because of the 25% nitro or what??? Would the new "buggy" head help. Please help.

Try and décompress the engine with 0.1mm and try again. The Buggy head can keep your engine cooler but the decompression is the most effective for your problem.

Hi Rody. Thanks for the advice. I will get some shims from CML Distribution and try the No6 plug again.

Hello RB. Today I went to my local track I added 0.1 to the head clearance and all my problems seem to be cured. In fact even with such a small shim the performance seems better, also I managed a 20 minute run with out plug problems. Thanks Rody.
