I have been running my RB Concepts C-12 in my NMT for quite a while with consistant needle settings - high 5 turns out and low 2 turns out. For some reason today when I ran my NMT, the engine kept dying out when I reached approximately half throttle. I have tried a new glow plug and I am using the same 25% Nitro Sidewinder fuel as usual - all the same parameters, and don't understand why this is occuring. I dont think this is a "RICHER OR LEANER" issue becuase I tried retuning ALL DAY! My high end is typically 5 turns out and I tried anywhere from 4 turns to 6, and +/- 1.5 from the usual 2 out on the low end. Do you think I should go lower than 4 turns or higher than 6 turns out on the high end or is this excessive? Any suggesions? Thanks

Have you replaced the glowplug with the same part# which was originally with the engine?

i've had the same problem befor. try this. fire it up, and clear the pipe. pinch off the fuel line to the carb, and count of how many seconds it takes for it to start to lean out. 2-3 seconds will put you in the proper range. if it leans out befor 2-3 sec richen the low speed needle. if it leans out after 2-3 sec lean the low needle. doing this will get the carb set close on the bench/pits. take it out, and do the fine needleing. always clear the pipe befor pinching off the line. i got this info from someone (sorry i forgot your name) here on the forum. it works great.

Thanks, Doomraching. I'll give it a shot next weekend.

Moderator,
I always have been using standard glowplugs, although they are not the same as supplied originally. I am confident that this is not the problem since this part of the equation has always been constant and never changed.

You might be wrong here, using other brand glowplugs can change a lot in the engines behaviour. However if you can solve the problem by adjusting the engines carburetor setting is is fine with me...

Actually, I attribute the problem to bad fuel. I tried some fresher and it runs fine. It is not the glowplug, moderator.

Most important is that you have solved your problem and that you can enjoy...
