I work at a hobby shop and just happened to be looking around at the shelves when I noticed something. it was a coiled section of metal tubing for an airplanes fuel. Then It hit me....Could I coil some brass and stick it between the fins on my cooling head? So I sketched it out on paper ( and by this point your probably thinking It wont work because you cant coil it like that but I figured all I would need to do is a little creative filing on the head so that the tube could pass through here and there...now the next question you probably have...Water cooled? how will you do it? answer: simple I would use an extra fuel tank and hook it up so that the hot water or steam goes into the top of the tank pushing the cooler water through the bottom and all I would have to do it put a little plastic melting stuff on the lid once I fill it to seal it. Wadda ya say Rody should i try it?

You forgot a means to cool the water such as a radiator for instance

The idea of the water cooling is not new but as David says, you need to cool down the water and also the plastic does not like heat. But if you want to try it is up to you and all I can say is don't burn yourselve...

as if nitro isn't finicy as it is, and you want to add one more gear into the works. next someone will try and reinvent the wheel.

I've seen a few attempts to water cool car engines. None of them have been fully successful though. OK, sure you can water cool the engine, but still the cost of doing this is still to high, both moneywyse and weight wyse. Still i think that if you can develop a good system you could get rid of the openings in the body that you need currently and ultimatly increase the power from the engines. So my ultimate comment is that keep trying, it is from innovators like your self that really good thing come in the end.

Goof Luck

Hey I just thought of another thing....to get rid of the current windshield holes I could devise a small copper box to mount on the front bulk head of my car and then have that hold the water and cut out the grill on the car cover it with nylons and cut my foam bumper to direct air up. Since my bulkhead and several other pieces on my front end are aluminum it will cool further. I want some more opinions on this one. i think I may have done it.

I could glue some ESC heatsinks to the copper radiator........not glue but JB Weld

try and solder them with silver solder. jb weld may restrict heat transfer.

Well I've always had the idea to couple a circulating system to the end of the crankshaft, where pullstarters attach, and run it through a small radiator. I think that by using a rapid heat dissipating fluid, like those used in welding, it would work to some degree. Just a thought

i saw something like in a mag i think it was extreme i'm not sure. a guy water cooled his t max with a head from a boat engine, a brass tank that was used for planes(it was used on older planes and since you work at a hobby shop that shouldn't be a problem) and a conley fuel pump, but he used it to move the water. he taped into the engine casing to power the fuel pump. good luck you can probably get the issue on the net.
