Just installed my new X-12,and while installing the clutch, noticed that the engine turns over very easy, with little change with the plug installed.Engine fires up with no effort at all!
Now I am comparing this new motor to my older MT-12,which was very stiff to turn over.Any thoughts on this,I hope this runs as well as my MT-12,if not, it's history!

Because the engines are smaller the tollerances are more difficult to get all the fits of the piston/liners of the .12 engines the same.
It should be normally no problem, the breaking-in period will be more easy and shorter though.

I understand about the engines being smaller, and tolerances are harder to maintain.I also know this engine will not perform as well as my previous engine due to the LACK of compression.Compression is the
key to most engines,as I'm sure you know that!

Not really true, I have had excellent engines which did not have a lot of compression.

rb motors are topnoch! i'm the fastest 1/10 truck at the track, and it's still getting faster. i'm going to put my rb in my rs4, and see what it can do in a sedan. i bought a rb .15 circuit buggy. next to no compression with the plug out. put the plug in and you can feel the click past tdc. wounce i get it needled i'm going to do some impact spanking. my .12 rocks. you'll be happy wounce your eating crow about rb being a crummy motor.

OK you guy's,the verdict is still out on the x-12.I did win the A-main,but is was not from the engine,TQ had problems later in the race, and the other top racers also had problems.I did qualify 2nd though! The engine does not seem able to carry the top speed that I am used to with the MT-12,I always got caught at the end of the straight, when I normally will pull most other racers. All sedan racers ran the Rossi's or the MT-12.It also could be that I am expecting to much from this powerplant as well, temp ranged from 250-270 at 4.5 turns out on the high side.We have another club race this weekend,so I will see what it can do on this track, which is huge to say the least(we get to play with the 1/8 scaler's here)

Very hard to believe that you cant keep up with the Mt-12's.You MUST me doing something wrong if you are not pulling ahead of the Mt-12's,period.I use the Rb-X-12 Turbo in my impulse and the power is ballistic.Everyone at my track notices that there is something special under that hood.I have so much power at will that i rarely use full throttle.Dont forgot also that these engines dont magically drive themselves, there are so many variables, gear ratios, fuel, different plugs, different setups, etc. So to squarely blame an engine is not so easy. All things considered ive noticed after some speculation that this engine does have more power.
