I have a new .12 rear exhaust that I got through a friend. I don't have access to RB glow plugs however. (local hobby shop doesn't have them and can't get them). I run 30% nitro. Would mcCoy 8 be OK?

hi there, try removing ur plug and see if its an ordinary plug or a TURBO plugs. 30% is too high. i normally uses 20%. not unless ur wallet is full to replace the piston linear and conrod. if ur playing for fun then its not worthy. bye

30% is what everybody here uses to race. Very hot climate and the higher nitro runs cooler. The fuel we use is specially blended to offer extra protection as far as lubrication goes (it is not a comercially available brand such as trinity, etc). I'm asking if anybody has experience with Mccoy 8 because it is also a colder plug which is needed with the high nitro content.

The RB-4 works best but MC-59 works ok also. I would add one .004 shim to run 30 %. We run it with great results. The MC-8 will run but the cold plug leads some people to tune the idle too lean and run hot. Add the head shim you will be pleased. The X-12 makes too much power for most.
