I was looking for a new engine. The first engine I would like to buy is the RB concept V15. So I asked someone at the club who has had the engine for a whole season. He says the crankshaft is very unbalanced and if you have the carter and crankshaft without piston and liner, the engine is shaking in your hand when you twist the shaft quiete hard. So the bearings will wear a lot. He is talking about the Rody tuned version. So the question is: Does the V15 with SG crankshaft (standard version)also shake (unbalanced)?

If you prefer to believe the person who states this to you then this is up to you, I have never heard such a non-sense.
Does this person knows how these engines work?
Anyway, just to help you, there is no perfect balance for these type of engines and so can only be made aproximately, the crankshafts of the V15 engines are enough well balanced to make the engines work and perform well.

I also think that RB engines would not make such mistakes. And the person where I had the information from has 15 years of racing experience. He knows where he's talking about. But I think I'll try an RB concept engine. Looks fine to me. After a couple of races I would replace te bearing for a ceramic one. Is this a good idea?
if you see that guy again you can tell him that the counterweight of every crankshaft is there to keep the whole system in balance which includes crankshaft, piston, pin and conrod. It's normal that it's out of balance on its own.
It's possible to produce real car engines without counterweights, not so on these 1-cylinder micro engines.
