I'm going to try a few setups and see how fast I can get this buggy. May try the 2-speed if I can wring out the 20T but i'm wondering if there are any tricks for the C4.
Read a little on shimming thr sleeve but how would it affect this motor? I'm looking for a powerband 30K and up..or even 33-34K and up, hoping to pull about 38 or higher with the tallest gearing I can.
Whatever I do, I want to put the motor back to stock so no permanent grinding or porting. I currently have the 086 pipe, is this the best for top end? Any tricks to the header I can do?
If it bogs like crazy or makes little or no power on the bottom that's fine, I want to make as much as I can at the top...kinda like a crazy cam on a musclecar trying to use power brakes
Not looking to burn it up in 2 or 3 passes, I want to still have a semi-rich setting and see what I can get out of it. I have seen people burn a motor up in parking lots and i'm not into that. Looking to break 70 MPH maybe 75, running right around 60 now, maybe a little bit higher, but 70 is the current goal.
I want to return the motor to it's current status which is why I don't want any permanent fixes or mods.
Any help appreciated.....who knows, maybe we can get a speed record Posts: 35 | From: VA | Registered: Sep 2006

The RB 086 pipe is very good for top-end power. Use the short RB manifold and you can make it even shorter for more top-end.
