Had this motor for about 4 years now..been great. Has been sitting for 2 years and now i'm going to play with it again. Always ran O'Donnel fuel, mainly 20% but shimmed the head 1MM and went with 30% for the last gallon.
Still runs strong but i'm curious if there is much more to be had with this motor so i'll give you my setup....
30% fuel, 4MM total shim height Main needle is 2 1/2 out, low is 5 turns out.
Idles all day and is snappy, always blows smoke out of the pipe, current pipe is the Ofna 086 and I tried the waller adapter and it doesn't seem to lose any power...hard to tell if it gained any.
Do these needle settings sound normal, concerned about the low...other than that, maybe there is another pipe or setting that I may have overlooked...maybe not just wanted to ask.
Rody, I noticed you run petrol through your motor to clean it out, what type of petrol...diesel, regular gas or what?
Can I use kerosene, or diesel or something...just curious? What is the preferred fluid to clean the motor/bearings with...thanks.

If your engine idles well and is snappy and blows smoke all the way then you are at a very good setting and no need to change things here to try and squeeze more out of it in my point of view. Of course you can try other things like our original 2045 Pipe but this is of course up to you to decide.
As for the cleaning of our engines, what I am speaking of is the petrol we use for cleaning the brushes after painting, this kind of petrol is neutral and not agressive, hope you understand what I mean to say here.
