I am having troubles tuning this engine i cant seem to get it to tune it keeps flaming out. Its sounds lean all the time but if i richen it up it dies even quicker. The engine is brand new its got maybe 15 tanks. I am running 20 percent nitro and a jp3 pipe. I was wondering if maybe i should go to a hot plug so it would burn the fuel better. im running on a pretty small track. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can try going to a hotter plug, I know when breaking mine in I ran a number 5 plug to help it stay running while I was running it pretty rich. 15 tanks is still probabky breaking in and you can't really start leaning it out properly. I would also suggest getting rid that JP3 pipe as I have never had good luck with any of their pipes on any of my RB's.

I've got a pair of C6's and the turbo plug does seem to make tuning them a bit harder than a standard plug (but then I'm a total novice). I didn;t really start leaning on mine untill they had nearly a gallon through them and had loosened right out. However, if it's sounding lean all the time you could try checking for air leaks...

put a hot plug in tonight and it fixed every little problem i was having with the engine. It tuned easy running temps i think it should be for tuned about 80% thanks for all the help. The sounds good now like its supposed to and tuned slightly rich, idles great everything. Now im remembering why i love rbs so much. And because they get 10+ gallons

Glad to hear it. I know that is always the hardest part is waiting for the engine to loosen up and run the way you know it will. If you have patience with these engines and let them fully break in prior to trying to squeeze all the power out of it, the engine will reward you with a long life!!!
