I have had no problems in any of my RB with the new Byrons Gen2. I am running the 30% pro. Temps have seemed to be a bit lower but it has been in the 50s -60s so I am attributing the temps to ambient temps being lower.

I actually just switched to the Mugen fuel which is Byron gen 2 dyed orange and it is great. I actually switched to a number 5 plug when I did the switch.. Possibly because the gen2 has more oil. Once I switched to the #5 plug my temps were lower, I had better over all power and the engine idled better than it ever had before. I came in today after a 30 minute main at 213 degrees pulled into pit lane and the idle droped down just perfect and stayed idling the tank out for another 4 minutes.

I've run over 3 gallons of Gen 2 25% thru my C6. I did have to lean the needles a bit comming from Gen 1 25%. I have had no issues with performance. I took the C6 apart last week to do a clean-up/inspection & found the inside to be in very clean shape with no funny residue or discoloring on anything inside. I'm sticking with it.

Yep I really agree on the internals of the engine after running the fuel.. I was running nitrotane which left a residue somewhat similar to what Odonnell used to do. Keep trying to run it, every RB I have seen it run in has actually ran and idled better.

thanks for the replies.haven't had a chance to get back out yet.i have reset the needles to factory and will tune it from there?i am not using the pro 25% just the standard race formula.the oil levels are meant to be the same?so should i tune for sound or for smoke....

I actually like to tune to how the engine sounds... but you do need to watch for smoke (some fuel more than others) You can really hear when the engine is running just right, it does not hesitate and it does not cut out at any time. Once you have the engine performing very well check the temp just to ensure your not too hot and you should be all set.

Oil content for the GEN 2 fuel is actually LOWER than the original. It has taken some time to get there but most US 'Car' designated fuels are now down to the 8%-10% range. The Europeans have been there for years.
By most accounts, a user has to lean both needles when switching to Byron's Gen 2 fuel. Lower temps and increased run time are also noteworthy.

The oil content has not been changed from the Original to GenII only the blend ratio has changed from 60/40 to 50/50 syn to castor. Also some lube boosters have been added. You will have to reclock your needles to the lean side and it burns alot cleaner. They have started offering there 9% pro fuels to everyone and not just the team drivers.

Just running in an L2G C6 in on Gen 2 and it does burn quite cold. Had real problems keeping any heat in the head during break in. I'm just over the half gallon mark now and starting to lean her out some, performance is awsome even at this stage, and the temps are at least 10 degrees down on my previous motors. Seems like it's much easier to tune as well... So far I'm a fan.

been out with my car.seems to be getting better but as it gets to say 8 to 10 mm from empty it struggles to pull all the fuel through.the other day i was getting 12 and a half minutes on the standard 8mm restrictor.this was not empty but ready for more fuel, yesterday i was getting about 9 and a half minutes before it started to bog at low speed as if it was running rich?would the length of the pressure pipe affect this?i was running the no.6 turbo plug.pitlane temp was 85degrees F engine was between 180F to 230F

Sometimes the fueltank can give you the problem to keep your tune steady. We know that under all circumstances there is always a difference in tune when the tank is full and when it is almost empty. The engine needs to be tuned slightly rich when you start with a full tank and you will notice that the engine will go leaner when the tank goes empty. Depending on the car its tank for some the fluctuation is bigger then the other and so you need to be aware of this. The pressure will not change a lot, it is the tank and its position in the car which makes the difference.

hi,just an update.found out that the stone guard in the tank had seperated from the supply pipe.fitted a new tank and all is well apart from a little retune, thanks for the suggestions and hints
